SOBRE EL PROYECTO

Functional Time-Temperature Indicators (TTIs) employing silver and gold nanoparticles (AgNPs and AuNPs) were manufactured to ensure cold chain compliance for fruits within the 0°C to 4°C range in the Cundinamarca Region. These TTIs utilize plasmonic nanoparticles with Localized Surface Plasmon Resonances (LSPRs), enabling them to respond to temperature variations. The colorimetric changes in nanodispersions arise from shifts in LSPRs caused by alterations in the initial nanoparticle configuration over time due to temperature fluctuations. Three activation mechanisms behind the colorimetric responses were identified, involving concentration variations, geometry adjustments, and agglomeration processes. Through comprehensive characterization, including UV-Vis Spectroscopy, SEM, EDS, DLS, and NTA, these mechanisms were studied. The research demonstrates the potential of nanotechnology in enhancing cold chain monitoring by providing easily interpretable colorimetric indicators.
